That place is Norway. Grandmother Besta's vivid stories of her childhood home bring mountains and trolls to Ingrid's Dakota prarie.
But it is only when Ingrid grows up and goes to Norway that she gets a hint of surprises that await her in a place she thought she knew well, her own homeland.
Ingrid returns home to discover Native Americans with stories and dances to share. She learns that ancestors of these new friends had lived on the Dakota prarie for centuries before Besta arrived from Norway. And her troll meets his match in Trickster Coyote.
